Successfully Advancing Commercialization.

In the fall of 2004, Jim Stike, founder and former president of Porvair Advanced Materials and Porvair Fuel Cell Technology, and Bill Austin, set out to develop a business enterprise that would bring critical skills to technology developers needed to advance the commercialization of emerging technologies.

Less than a year later, they officially launched Materials Innovation Technologies (MIT) — a company that fuses the knowledge, expertise and procurement of advanced materials, innovative manufacturing methods, ancillary services and commercialization scale-up engineering. As a unifying force servicing disparate yet companion industries, MIT has rapidly grown by focusing its operations and support mechanisms on advanced material tooling, machining, molding, building, scale up, production, manufacturing and engineering functions.

Although young, the company has already secured numerous federal and state-level grants to support their work — work that, among other things, holds the promise of potentially redirecting all U.S. and international automaker efforts to increase fuel efficiencies without compromising a century’s worth of safety developments.

MIT continues to expand its scope today, creating and coordinating collaborative partnerships to facilitate commercialization of emerging technologies. Among their targets are the fields of alternative energy; aerospace and defense; environmental and thermal management; medicine, and engineered components.

Our Mission: To become the premier solutions provider of emerging technologies.
